I AM SHE

Author: Dr. Stephanie Epps

I AM SHE.

When you look in the mirror what do you see? Who are you? Who is the woman in the mirror? Who is she? Where has she been? Where is she going?

When I look in the mirror, I SEE HOPE. I SEE LIGHT. I AM PEACE. I AM STRENGTH. I AM POWER.

I AM SHE.

She was in darkness but chose to walk into the light. She was broken but she is healed. She speaks her truth. She walks with purpose. She chooses possibility. She chooses hope.

I AM SHE.

Hello There!

I am Dr. Stephanie Epps. I am a Nurse Practitioner, Retired Professor, Yoga teacher, and Holistic Empowerment Mentor. I’m also the wife of a sweet and funny football-Ioving, computer whiz, self-proclaimed chef; and mommy to the sweetest and smartest, 6 year-old around.

I believe in the power of health promotion, prevention, and maintenance to fuel a holistic approach to self-discovery, freedom, and abundance. I have survived professional burnout and high functioning depression. I thrive and excel in supporting moms and professional women prioritize their mental, physical, and spiritual health, while setting and achieving their goals.

I have a passion for teaching empowerment, mindfulness, meditation, and self-care. I am a certified life coach through Dream Releaser Coaching.

I own Indigo Soul Yoga, LLC in Locust Grove, GA. I am an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher and Yoga Alliance Certified Education Provider. I have taught well over 2000 hours of yoga and I have practiced yoga for over 10 years.

I am a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where I obtained my MSN and a graduate of Mercer University, where I obtained my MBA. I completed my doctorate at Georgia College & State University. My research focus, was "The Effects of Chair Yoga on Balance and Quality of Life in the Older Adult." I’m a cataylst for change, radical self-care, and quality of life for all ages.

I have an extensive history of caring for young, middle-aged, and older adult patients that have experienced traumatic brain and spine injuries. I will say that the older adult population holds a special place in my heart. We all hope to age gracefully and energetically. When I’m 85 I desire to still travel, practice yoga, and live my best life. Look at our recently departed Betty White and Cicely Tyson. If they can live their best life well into their 90s, so can we.
